Ray Charles
Ray Charles (1930–2004) was a pioneering American singer, pianist, and composer revered as "The Genius" for blending gospel, jazz, blues, and country into early soul music. Blinded by age seven, he overcame poverty and racism, creating iconic hits like "What'd I Say," "Georgia on My Mind," and "Hit the Road Jack".
