Moscow, 1977. Two 'PONIES' ('persons of no interest' in intelligence speak) work anonymously as secretaries in the American Embassy. That is until their husbands are killed under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, and the pair become CIA operatives. Bea is an over-educated, Russian speaking child of Soviet immigrants. Her cohort, Twila, is a small-town girl who is as abrasive as she is fearless. Together, they work to uncover a vast Cold War conspiracy and solve the mystery that made them widows in the first place.

Episode 1: Second Hand News (Jan 15, 2026)

In late 1970s Moscow, two CIA wives are thrust into a shadowy new world after tragedy‬‭ strikes; with their lives upended, they embark on a new life as CIA operatives in the Soviet Union.

Episode 2: Hanging on the Telephone

As Bea and Twila begin their training, Bea becomes the handler for Soviet technician Sasha and catches the eye of the dangerous KGB officer Andrei; Twila's assignment‬ ‭entertaining a businessman uncovers a much deeper conspiracy.

Episode 3: Backstreets

Bea strengthens her cover on a date with Andrei; Twila dives into an off-the-books investigation of‬ ‭a string of sex worker murders.

Episode 4: Don't Go Breaking My Heart

Twila runs her first asset, Vera, a Russian fixer with secrets tied to their husbands' deaths; as‬‭ Bea's bond with Sasha grows, so does the danger.

Episode 5: Turn the Beat Around

In a bold move, Bea enlists an unlikely ally to pose as Vera, but what seems like a victory may actually be a trap.

Episode 6: Night Movies

As dark truths about her late husband surface, Bea struggles to hold her cover with Andrei;‭Twila goes undercover in a hotel.

Episode 7: Livin' Thing

A stakeout across Moscow pushes Bea and Twila to their limits, revealing there is a mole inside the Embassy.

Episode 8: The Stranger (Jan 15, 2026)

Manya reunites with an old friend and discovers something shocking; Bea, Twila and Sasha flee the city and learn the secret behind Andrei's rise in the KGB.
