Randy Edelman
Randy Edelman is a American composer and musician, born in June 1947 in New Jersey, whose career began in Broadway pit orchestras and as a songwriter for iconic artists like The Carpenters and Barry Manilow. While he initially found success as a solo artist with a cult following in the United Kingdom, he became world-renowned for his extensive work in film and television, composing over one hundred scores for major projects including The Last of the Mohicans, Ghostbusters II, Kindergarten Cop, and the original theme for the hit series MacGyver. Beyond the big screen, Edelman's music has become a staple of sports broadcasting, specifically his work for NBC’s Olympic Games coverage and NFL telecasts, earning him an Emmy Award and the BMI Richard Kirk Award for Outstanding Career Achievement.
