Maggie Rogers
Maggie Rogers is an American singer-songwriter and producer who surged into the public eye in 2016 when her song "Alaska" moved Pharrell Williams to tears during a masterclass at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Raised in Maryland, she grew up playing the harp, banjo, and piano before merging her folk roots with dance beats during a transformative study abroad trip to Europe. She officially debuted with her critically acclaimed 2019 album Heard It in a Past Life, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Known for her powerful vocals, vulnerable songwriting, and energetic live performances, Rogers has since solidified her place in indie-pop with subsequent albums like Surrender (2022) and Don't Forget Me (2024), all while managing to earn a master's degree from Harvard Divinity School in 2022.
