Labi Siffre

Labi Siffre (born 1945) is a British singer, songwriter, poet, and activist known for soulful hits like "It Must Be Love" (covered by Madness) and the anti-apartheid anthem "Something Inside (So Strong)," while also becoming a hip-hop staple through samples of his work by artists like Eminem ("My Name Is") and Kanye West ("I Wonder"). Born in London to a Barbadian/English mother and Nigerian father, Siffre gained fame in the 1970s for blending love songs with political themes, addressing racism and homophobia in his music throughout his career.
