Kaiser Chiefs
Kaiser Chiefs are a prominent English alternative rock band from Leeds, formed in 2000 (originally as Parva) and named after the South African football club Kaizer Chiefs. The group—consisting of frontman Ricky Wilson, Andrew White, Simon Rix, Nick Baines, and drummer Vijay Mistry—achieved massive success with their 2005 debut album, Employment, which sold over three million copies and featured indie anthems like "I Predict a Riot" and "Oh My God". They solidified their mainstream status with the 2007 UK number-one hit single "Ruby" from their platinum-selling second album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob.
