Hot Chip

Hot Chip is a British electronic music band formed in London in 2000 by vocalists/multi-instrumentalists Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard, later expanding into a five-piece lineup with Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. Known for their blend of synth-pop, alternative dance, and disco, the group has consistently released critically acclaimed albums, including The Warning (2006), Made in the Dark (2008), and A Bath Full of Ecstasy (2019). Their music is celebrated for combining intelligent, emotive songwriting with infectious dance beats, earning them both Mercury Prize nominations and a Grammy nod for the hit single "Ready for the Floor". Beyond their studio work, they are recognized for energetic live shows that incorporate heavy, improvised instrumentation and their work as prolific DJs. Over two decades into their career, they continue to release music, such as 2022's Freakout/Release and 2025's Joy in Repetition.
