
Steve Buscemi
Steven Vincent Buscemi (born December 13, 1957) is a prolific American actor and filmmaker celebrated for his unique screen presence and mastery of quirky, fast-talking characters. Before finding fame, the Brooklyn native served as a New York City firefighter with Engine Company 55 from 1980 to 1984, a role he famously reprised as a volunteer in the aftermath of 9/11. His acting breakthrough came in independent cinema with standout roles in Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Fargo (1996), establishing him as a favorite collaborator of directors like the Coen Brothers and Quentin Tarantino. Buscemi transitioned seamlessly to leading man status in the critically acclaimed HBO series Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014), where his portrayal of Nucky Thompson earned him a Golden Globe. Behind the camera, he has directed numerous films and television episodes, including the iconic The Sopranos episode "Pine Barrens."
