Benjamin Edward Meara Stiller, born November 30, 1965, in New York City, is a prominent American actor, filmmaker, and comedian whose career was shaped by his upbringing as the son of legendary comedy duo Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. After a brief stint at UCLA and early success with the Emmy-winning sketch series The Ben Stiller Show, he became a definitive figure of 1990s and 2000s comedy as the "acknowledged leader" of the Frat Pack. Stiller is widely recognized for starring in and often directing blockbuster hits like Zoolander, Tropic Thunder, and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, as well as leading massive franchises such as Meet the Parents, Madagascar, and Night at the Museum.
